Designing is a large part of Brittany's life. Like most passionate designers, she enjoys working on a wide variety of briefs and clients. ReFUEL4 provides her that opportunity after work hours.
1. Tell me a little bit about yourself? Your professional background as well as your personal life that gives us an insight of you as a designer and person. What makes you tick?
Brittany: I am a graphic designer with a Bachelors degree in Graphic Design from The New England Institute of Art. Design has become a passion of mine and I have been working in the design field for over 6 years now. When I am not designing you can find me baking up some sweets, cooking some comfort food, exploring (hiking, kayaking, camping) or creating / building a DIY project at home.
2. What made you become a designer?
Brittany: I have always admired great design and enjoyed anything that involved using my creativity. Once I started studying graphic design, I became hooked. My favorite thing about being a designer is that the design world is always changing. I find myself constantly searching for ways to improve my skills, challenge myself, and evolve into a better designer.
3. Why did you choose to become a freelancer? What you were you looking for? The reasons you were looking?
Brittany: Freelancing gives me the freedom to design for different clients outside of my 9-5 design job. It also helps me earn some extra income, which is always a plus!.
4. How did you discover RF4? What compelled you to start working with us?
Brittany: I first was introduced to ReFUEL4 by a friend from college. She told me all about it and got me in contact with the team at ReFUEL4. It was easy to sign up and I got started on designing briefs right away.
5. What has been the experience of working with RF4?
Brittany: At first I thought it was too good to be true. It is not everyday you get to have the opportunity to have several freelance projects right at your fingertips. It felt great when I first started to see my designs get chosen by clients from around the world. I've been working with ReFUEL4 for almost a year now and overall it has been a positive experience.
What I enjoy the most is the wide variety of briefs I get to work on. I have worked on briefs ranging from fintech to gaming, childcare to e-commerce. This greatly expands my design horizon and allows me to beef up my portfolio while earning extra income on the side!
6. What can we do to make your experience with RF4 more fulfilling? How can we grow together?
Brittany: I think it would be very helpful if you offered classes or tutorials to help designers improve their skills. Also teaching designers more about what makes designs successful and perform well online.
